LAMB OF GOD: 'We Have Not Committed To Any Summer Tour'
February 22, 2007Richmond, Virginia metal act LAMB OF GOD has issued a statement through it Street Team refuting reports that it has committed to this summer's The Family Values Tour.
The official Virgin Recordse-card for KORN's upcoming "MTV Unplugged" album listed the purported lineup for this year's The Family Values Tour as headliners KORN alongside EVANESCENCE, LAMB OF GOD, and AIDEN. However, in a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, LAMB OF GOD denied that it had signed on the dotted line for the mammoth summer package.
Said LAMB OF GOD via Street Team CEO David Allen: "The [information released via the Virgin Records e-card] is inaccurate. We have not committed to any summer tour."
LAMB OF GOD was nominated in the the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 49th annual Grammy Awards, which were held February 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
LAMB OF GOD's latest album, "Sacrament", has sold 191,000 copies in the United States since its August 21, 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was produced by Machine (CLUTCH, KING CRIMSON, PITCHSHIFTER, EIGHTEEN VISIONS, EVERY TIME I DIE).
LAMB OF GOD has just kicked off a headlining American tour with modern-day metal traditionalists TRIVIUM, Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD and France's heaviest metal export GOJIRA.
